NERVOUS SYSTEM
You are the average of the five nervous system you spend the most time with.
You are also the way you choose and decide to breathe.
The nervous systems of the
people we surround ourselves
will have a direct impact on the
level of our nervous system
regulation
As we spend time with another
being, our brain's mirror neurons
get activated
This means, our nervous
systems literally get inter-connected (without body awareness people will not be conscious of it. People who do have a lot, will feel immediately a stress response, muscles contracted & tensions everywhere in the body)
Body always speaks and says so much more than our monkey minds
An other person can be a co-regulator or a co-dysregulator to us
Co-regulation is the process of
regulating ur body through
the presence of another being's
energy or body (hello tantric meditations)
Co-regulating relationships will
cause a sense of expansion
& safety in the body
"Which people make me feel safe?"
As much as we co-regulate with
other humans, we can also co-
dysregulate each other
This is when our bodies attune
to the stress and trauma
responses of other bodies
Questions for us to reflect on:
Who do we spend
most of our time with?
How regulated is their
nervous system?
How do we feel in
their company?
What do we notice in our body
when we are with them or after
we spent time with them?
One way to help heal our
nervous system is to be mindful
of the company we keep &
the people we surround
ourselves with
When we change paradigm and keep as main focus our nervous system and not the stories in our minds, things fall back in place
When we are forced to be in an environment that is hostile to us, we aren't stuck. We have the power to control our own nervous system by knowing the link between our breath and our own neurotransmitters
