DANCING
Dance is not about movement. It is about truth.
“The secret of dancing is that it is about everything except dancing.” — Martha Graham
It's the animal quality, it's the sense of wonder, it's the curiosity, the avidity for experience, for life. And you have to eat it all the time; sometimes it's bitter, sometimes it's dramatic or desperate, sometimes it's very sweet and joyful.
It seems to me that choreography very often is a word behind which you can hide - in designs, in pattern. The necessity, the probing thing, the constant looking for something is not there. Choreography to me is not design only, it isn't just planning four on one side and six on the other. It's a necessity of action. When you start with an idea, or something hits you, then you have to follow that through to the end, and it's the following through to the end that makes the pattern. That, for me, is choreography.
Yet in choreography I don't find freedom. I find it in spontaneity and into my intuition of the present moment and it shows up only when it's required to me.
And it doesn't have to be beautiful or ugly and doesn't requires any grade. It is what it is and flows with my own inner emotions.
Some days it will look talented some others like a little amateur and that is totally fine for me, from the moment I do what is needed for my body on the moment.
Dancing is healing, dancing connects us to the Source, dancing is a meditation through movement, dancing is mystical.
